This is a class in Tai Ji (Tai Chi) fundamentals of practice and philosophy. Weekly sessions will allow students to learn about self-cultivation through Tai Ji practice.
Students will learn several Tai Ji forms including: 5 Moving Forces Tai Ji, Tai Ji 24, Tai Ji 42, and Butterfly Tai Ji Sticks (Huo Die Shuang Gan). Students will also learn basic principles of Qi circulation through major meridians. Combined theory and practice will give students good foundation for self care.
Students taking the class for 4 credits will have additional readings, practice, and on-line seminars dedicated to philosophy and practice of Tai Ji.
Our work will be conducted remotely, using Canvas and Zoom. The faculty will offer alternative assignments if conditions or illness prevent students from accessing our synchronous meetings, which will allow students to earn full, comparable credit.
