Statistics II
Cancelled
How can we use advanced statistical methods to better understand our world? This class builds on foundational concepts presented in Statistics I to provide a deeper survey of statistical concepts, theories, and practical applications for students who have already mastered descriptive statistics, basic hypothesis testing, and simple linear regression. In this class we will learn to use analysis of variance (ANOVA), multiple-factor ANOVA, multiple regression, multivariate analyses, and meta-analysis methods. The class will finish with an introduction to non-parametric and multivariate statistics. In addition, the students will consider journal articles and research concepts, and will prepare a small presentation using the concepts from the class.
This class will be conducted online, using asynchronous lectures and quizzes, but with synchronous computer labs and discussions in Zoom. To participate in the class you will need a personal computer and an internet connection. The class materials will be posted on Canvas, the College’s online platform. If students find themselves unable to participate due to technology, caregiving obligations, economic disruption, health risk, or illness, they need to discuss alternate options to earn related credit with the faculty.
