Develop the skills and knowledge to work with custom robotics projects. We'll build and/or modify robotics platforms to enable remote control and communication, including first person view. We'll learn 3D modeling to create 3D printed interconnects and parts that enable customized features and capabilities.
Projects may use combinations of kit modification, mobile app design, image processing, sensor integration, autonomy, and more. For students who want to investigate image processing and autonomy/control, knowledge of Python or C programming is strongly recommended.
To successfully participate in this program, students will need a computer with Mac, PC, or Linux OS, a reliable internet connection and a well lit workspace. Our approach will emphasize participation in synchronous (live) sessions; however, if students find themselves unable to participate due to technology, caregiving obligations, economic disruption, health risk, or illness, they can work with faculty to pursue alternate options to earn related credit.
