This course is designed to help students take advantage of the rare opportunity for students to attend the American Psychological Association annual conference, APA 2020 Virtual , where they have the opportunity to engage with prominent leaders in psychology as they share ideas and new findings that inspire action and change.  Registration will include inspiring keynotes addressing societies most critical issues; collaborative, late-breaking scientific content; innovative poster sessions; and fostering connections and community. The American Psychological Association ( APA) was founded in 1892 and continues to promote advancement, communication and application of psychological science and knowledge to benefit society and improve lives. The  APA welcomes undergraduate psychology students to join the conference and/or the APA.  As stated by  the APA Board of Directors, "With the current challenges facing us, there has never been a more important time to come together as unifying force."

Attending the conference is an important opportunity for students to hear from leaders in the field and potentially join emerging work groups  to address  critical issues facing the nation and the world. Students may be able to further develop these projects in programs or contracts after the conference.  The conference is also an excellent opportunity to learn about psychology career options, trends in psychology and  participate in networking opportunities.

The course will have a pre-conference meeting on August 3, students will attend conference programming online between August 6-9 for a minimum of 15 hours, have a post program meeting on August 10, and write a reflection paper summarizing sessions they attended in the context of Evergreen five foci.

Find out more about the conference here:  https://convention.apa.org/attend/keynotes .  Students will need to register for the conference on their own.
