This advanced level course is offered to upper-division students with previous experience in art and printmaking. Students should have previous knowledge and experience in studio arts with an emphasis on printmaking. The objective is to compile all previous work into a presentable digital portfolio. Students will learn tools for creating a resume that consists of art project experience and skills to apply for additional educational and outreach opportunities, graduate school, or employment. An introduction to Adobe photoshop will support the construction of a professional portfolio document. Students will be challenged to research opportunities as they learn about available resources for higher education, exhibition, and job opportunities. Students will learn how to photograph 2D work and focus on writing a cohesive artist statement and resume to better their success in promoting their artwork.

All work will be conducted remotely, using Canvas and Zoom. A computer and access to the internet are preferred but not required, a phone may be used to connect during class sessions, all assignments must be submitted for review at the end of the session attended. Regularly scheduled synchronously (together) virtual meetings will take place once a week. Through step-by-step demonstrations and video tutorials, students will be expected to take notes and work asynchronously (independent) for an average of eight hours during each week. Students will be required to contribute to a class blog in Canvas.

Printmaking, drawing, animation, design, photography, ceramics, sculpture, fine metals, and any other hands-on studio practice that yields a visual portfolio.
