Principles of Management (online)

This course is designed for students who either are, or plan to be, in the position of managing their own work groups, starting businesses, managing non-profits, heading up large companies, or serving in government. It will introduce basic management concepts, tools and problem-framing methodologies such as communication, managing in a global world, motivating others, managerial ethics, decision making, and leadership. Class will be taught online through the Canvas virtual learning environment, a chat room for live webinars, and e-mail. Attendance at one face-to-face meeting is required: Monday, June 24 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Requests for alternative orientation arrangements considered case by case.
