Precalculus II is a continuation of the rigorous functions-based study began in precalculus I. Topics include: trigonometric functions, rational functions, parametric curves, vectors, and polar coordinates and curves. Each area will be explored algebraically, numerically, graphically, and verbally. Collaborative learning and mathematical thinking will be emphasized. A graphing calculator is required for the course. Students who successfully complete precaclulus I and precalculs II will be prepared for calculus.
Though the course will taught remotely, collaborative learning will be a fundamental component of the course. Reliable internet access and a graphing calculator, or other graphing software, are required for the course. Students are encouraged to have a camera and microphone-enabled device, a small dry-erase board, and markers or the ability to use the whiteboard in Zoom. Students should expect 3 hours per week of synchronous meetings using Zoom and Canvas. Students will have access to alternatives to synchronous sessions if necessary.
