This course is designed to be the first half of the equivalent of a year-long study of general chemistry and will include lecture, small-group problem-solving activities, and laboratory. Topics covered will include: stoichiometry, structure of the atom, periodic properties, bonding, thermochemistry, and gases. Laboratory will focus on developing good lab habits and skills while applying the principles learned in class to real-world problems.
