This offering delivers all of its instruction online via zoom. In addition, it uses an innovative fully online textbook and platform that incorporates a film series.  All aspects of the program focus on linguistic skills and cultural competence.

This course is part of a year-long sequence and is designed for those who are ready for third quarter of 'Second Year' level.  All classes are conducted in French. Course objectives focus on increasing communicative skills through discussions, practice with native speakers, contextual grammatical review and cultural study.  Students build upon their existing skills quickly and sharpen oral and aural proficiency. This quarter study focuses on reading and translation skills through a novel alongside film study. Students will increase their knowledge of literature, culture and film art.  Class activities engage students in individual and collaborative projects and lively debates with native speakers.

To successfully participate in this course, students will need a reliable Internet connection to access oral class interactive activities via synchronous work.  Additional asynchronous connections are necessary for course materials linked to the textbook, plus access to Canvas, Zoom, Slack, Google Classroom and YouTube.
