This course is a part of a continuing, year-long sequence in French, which emphasizes mastery of fundamental skills through solid study of grammatical structures and communicative oral activities via Zoom.  Classes are conducted primarily in French with a multi-dimensional, interactive approach.  Students work in small group practice via breakout rooms and teaching assistants and have the opportunity to be engaged with native French speakers regularly. The class incorporates a balance of all four language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing. This quarter cultural themes highlight the ‘Francophone World.  Students will read legends and tales from West Africa and the Caribbean and develop a deeper understanding of the geography and cultural traditions of these cultures. Students will increase reading skills and accurate pronunciation in oral practices, reading aloud and listening to the tales.

To successfully participate in this course, students will need a reliable internet connection to access course interactive activities via synchronous classes.

Asynchronous connections are necessary for course content, using Canvas, Zoom, Slack, Google Classroom and YouTube.
