In this course, students will learn fundamentals of ballet and gain greater physical flexibility and coordination. In addition, we will practice the Beamish BodyMind Balancing Floorbarre, authentic movement, developmental movement therapy and visualization exercises. We will use these exercises to achieve heightened awareness of self through movement both in and outside class. Students of all dance levels are welcome. Students will need ballet slippers.

To successfully participate in this program, students will need to attend 9 out of 10 classes, at least a 6x8 space to move, and exercise clothing. Students can expect our remote teaching to be around 2 hours of synchronous (scheduled) coursework per week, using Zoom. Students will have access to alternatives to synchronous (in person or remote) participation if conditions require.
