Do you want to direct your own learning as part of a team in a truly unique, innovative way? Do you have great ideas for business and want to evolve them into plans? Are you just trying to figure out what to do with your life? Become part of the Change Maker Lab (CML) program and join in this international movement and find a path to your passion!

In the Changemaker Lab program you will learn the skills you need to start and run your own business or become a trusted advisor in organizational settings. Most of our time will be spent working in teams and teams of teams to create a learning organization that will facilitate learning about many business concepts and the development of strategic business plans around actual sustainable businesses, social enterprises and projects. This program is designed for students who are planning to spend one to three years in the Changemaker Lab Program, or are in their junior or senior year of business studies, and are wanting to pursue professional business qualifications to gain practical hands on experience. You will learn by doing: how to incorporate, innovate, create a strategic business plan, formulate and manage budgets, calculate and file income taxes, apply cooperative organizational management principles, understand financial statements, take business decisions, do financial planning and start and manage a variety of businesses and business types. We place an emphasis on trying things out, taking risks, failing in a safe environment and "failing up", learning from our own and each other's small failures.

In this program students will learn how to design organizational systems that think, rethink, restructure and continuously reallocate the way resources are applied to produce products and services. Changemaking organizations discover scaleable solutions to many significant problems by highlighting the important aspects of people and the preservation of our planet, metrics which have been ignored by a business culture focused solely on profit.

This program also supports learners preparing for the  (CMA) Examinations from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) or a  (CAPM) or (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, who gain the practical exposure needed to better understand the topics they encounter while enrolled in professional preparation systems for these qualifications. Much of the hands on learning obtained in the Changemaker Lab Program environment is a good fit for understanding practically many of the knowledge requirements for the above mentioned certifications. Students studying for these professional certifications will be simultaneously enrolled in the Wiley CMA Excel exam preparation system or a CAPM preparation systems and may earn credit in some of these subject areas.

The Change Maker Lab is a large team-based collaboration across three catalog descriptions: Business Fundamentals, Farm/Garden, and Ocean Business/Science. Those interested in Farm/Garden or Ocean Business/Science project work should register for the Farm/Garden or Ocean Business/Science programs specifically.  Those wishing to pursue businesses in any other market sector, or focus mainly on the business aspects of the Farm/Garden or Ocean Business/Science projects, should register for the Business Fundamentals program here.
