In this all-level course, students will work to make a full sized, fairly realistic bust using photographs in the round. Students will build observational skills as well as learn how to translate two dimensions into three. With a variety of helpful visual aides, handouts, and demos, students will learn the basic anatomy of the head and neck, and will work to sculpt the features to give the bust a sense of presence. Participants will use a solid building construction method with a steel pipe armature.  Surface techniques will include textural, fired, and cold surface treatments.
