Will your organization survive the complexity, chaos, and uncertainty it's facing? Today's organizations operate in abusiness environment that is fundamentally different from the industrial era in which they were conceived. To stay relevant and viable long term, these organizations need to adapt rapidly, intelligently, and effectively. In this course, topics such as adaptive organizations, leadership, and cultures will be discussed. This course helps students learn and examine the nature, structure, and dynamics of adaptive capacity building in thriving organizations. It provides a conceptual understanding of agile adaptive organizations through reading, seminars, videos, and case analyses while developing skills through practice, critical and reflective thinking, writing, and group activities.

This class will have a hybrid course and has a significant online component, with some class meetings conducted via Zoom and learning activities conducted through Canvas. The faculty will offer alternative assignments if conditions or illness prevent students from accessing our synchronous meetings, which will allow students to earn comparable credit.
