Understanding Anti-Semitism in North America

Friday, March 2, 2018 - 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm

Seminar 2 B1105

Sam Bick and David Zinman are TREYF, a duo based out of Montreal, Canada. They produce a media series on political issues in Jewish communities.

Sam and David will lead a discussion on todays dominant framework for understanding Anti-Semitism in North America. Together they will discuss the failures of this framework and how to work toward better understanding of the ways anti-Jewish marginalization intersects and interacts with other systems of oppression.

The workshop will address 3 main questions:

-What is the dominant framework for understanding Anti-Semitism?

-How does this framework fail us and our allies?

-How can we bring a more intersectional understanding of Anti-Semitism into our political work?
