Boulder Traveling Seminar 2015

Fifteen Greeners and friends gathered at Buchanan's Coffee Pub on a beautiful evening in Boulder. The Power of the Short Story, a Traveling Seminar Series hosted by Evergreen's Office of Alumni Programs was the topic of the evening. Seminar attendees shared fun Evergreen stories and how Evergreen and their college experience made an impact on their future endeavors. Seminar facilitators Rebecca Chamberlain and Shelly Catterson ‘93, led a lively group discussion on short stories followed by time for creative writing.
Rebecca earned a B.A. in English from Seattle Pacific University and an M.A. in English from the University of Washington. Her expertise is literature and writing and her interests include language, poetics, storytelling and folklore, mythology, cultural and environmental education, mountaineering and astronomy. Rebecca’s spring quarter class at Evergreen will be Write Now: Creative Writing as Discovery. She is the Faculty Representative to The Evergreen State College Foundation Board of Governors.
Shelly Catterson ‘93
Shelly earned a B.A. from The Evergreen State College and an M.F.A. from Vermont College. She is a writer, reader, bookseller and works part-time at Boulder Book Store. Shelly's writing includes Medicine Weather, a book of short stories, and she is currently working on a memoir titled Mud. Independent book stores along with supporting writers and artists is a passion for this creative writer.
