The Writing Center & Poetry for the People presents: Jared Paul, spoken word performance and poetry mechanics workshop

The Writing Center is proud to be sponsoring Jared Paul's upcoming performance and workshop at The Evergreen State College Longhouse. There will be a spoken word performance by Jared, followed by a performance poetry workshop. Saturday, April 18, 11-1pm, Longhouse room 1007. This event is free and open to Evergreen students, staff and alumni. Be there!

About Jared Paul:

After defeating the NYPD in court last year as part of the largest protest related class action settlement in U.S. history (Schiller v. City of New York), nationally acclaimed spoken word artist, Jared Paul, is celebrating 18 years of animal rights organizing, environmental rights activism, and veganism with a national tour: presenting live poetry and workshops at independent bookstores, art galleries, venues, and colleges around the country. The Writing Center & CASV present: CASV Zine Submission Write-In Days!

The CASV Zine is a publication that offers a space for people to share their stories, explore healing through art and writing, and spread awareness about sexual violence, boundary crossing and survivorship; people of all identities, genders, and abilities from the Olympia/Evergreen community are invited to submit their work that explores themes of sexual violence, boundary violations, healing, and empowerment.

Whatever level of experience or confidence you have with writing, we invite you to come to the Center to explore and strengthen your writing process. Our tutors are here to work with you on your writing and to support you in navigating the different types of writing you encounter at Evergreen.
