Teaching for Understanding Guide

Educators in the Reaching College Readiness project applied the Teaching for Understanding methodology to college readiness skills as they created interdisciplinary assignments linking college readiness skills with content-based learning goals. This approach to teaching—which requires students to think, analyze, solve problems, and make meaning of what they learn—is described in this guide, along with case studies and classroom examples from a wide range of disciplines.


Integrative Learning Heuristic
