Consulting Services

Learning communities can lead to increased student engagement and success, but they are also are a complex institutional change strategy. We provide direct support to campuses. We also help campuses find consultants from within our national network.

Washington Center consultants can help campuses:

  • Explore data about student success in courses and programs across the curriculum to determine whether learning communities might be an effective strategy
  • Frame learning community initiatives as a means to increase student success and as an institutional change strategy
  • Integrate high impact practices into learning community programs and implement learning communities as one of a suite of high impact practices on campus
  • Build stronger partnerships between academic affairs and student affairs, and between curricular and co-curricular learning opportunities to strengthen student engagement
  • Design professional development activities for faculty and staff
