The ceramics studio, located around the back of the Art Annex and adjacent to Lab II, is uniquely positioned between the first and second stories. Open hours for this studio vary from quarter to quarter, please see the schedule for the most current hours of operation. Ceramics at Evergreen introduces students to a range of possibilities for work in clay. A sequence of courses is offered, one per quarter, during the year, to provide basic skills instruction in a variety of applications from sculptural to functional, working with high and low fire clay bodies. The area also provides intermediate to advanced study opportunities through visual arts faculty sponsored programs, or contracts in communal or individual studios.

The ceramics studio is equipped with both electric and kick potter’s wheels, two gas and four electric kilns, a slab roller, clay mixer, and other specialized tools available for ceramic student use. Questions about the Ceramics studio can be directed to the instructional technician and adjunct faculty member Mike Moran.
