Thanks for visiting the Evergreen Upward Bound digital home. This website is created by Upward Bound students. We appreciate your interest and support. We have outstanding students with bright futures. Upward Bound is a great US government program, which helps transform educational opportunities for individuals, families, and communities. Success in higher education is increasingly important for participation in the US and the Washington State economy. Upward Bound and other TRIO programs are a big part of the education solution.

 We provide meaningful access to higher education for first generation to college and low income students and so help break the cycle of poverty permanently. Not only are TRIO students' lives changed, the lives of their younger sibling, friends and sometime even adult relatives are changed. Once we help disadvantaged students crack the code of educational success, they can share this knowledge with their family and friends. These programs change more than personal growth. TRIO programs help widen the pipeline of college-educated citizens, which benefits  community-based organizations and government organizations. These higher education access programs are particularly important in Washington State given the strength of science and technology industries with companies such as Microsoft, Boeing and Intel.
