Tacoma Campus at Evergreen

($15 fee) - The college requires an assessment of your skills in reading, English, and math if you plan to register for 6 or more credits or take a math or English course, or if you have never attended a college before. Assessment testing is available on a WALK-IN basis (picture ID is required). Call 253-566-5158 24-hours per day to hear testing dates/times for a two-week period.

You may pay the $15 assessment fee in any of the following ways prior to taking the test:

• In person at the Cashier's Office in Bldg. 11 between 8am-4pm Monday through Friday.
• By major credit card by calling 253-566-5011 between 8am-4pm Monday through Friday.
• By personal check, money order, or major credit card using the drop boxes outside Bldg. 2 or Bldg. 18.

Students requiring accommodations because of a disability must make arrangements through TCC's Office of Disabilities Services prior to taking the assessment test. Please call 253-566-5338.

If you have taken the Asset or Cpt Assessment test at another college within the past 2 years, you may be able to use those scores in place of our Assessment test. You may bring your results to the Assessment Office in Bldg. 18 for review by an assessment staff member. If you have completed classes at another college but have not had your credits evaluated, we may be able to determine your skills level by reviewing your college transcript (official or unofficial copies may be used for this purpose).
