Byron Youtz Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $2,385
Due Date: February 1

Offered to a currently enrolled student attending full time with junior or senior standing for the 2013–14 academic year. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to study in either the natural sciences or humanities/arts and must give evidence of strong personal interest in the alternate discipline. This would include, for example, a student whose study emphasis during the freshman and sophomore years has been in science/math, but who has also pursued interests in the humanities or expressive arts; or the candidate may have worked primarily in the latter fields while also exploring some area of science, math or computer studies.

Requirements

  • Letter of application briefly describing recent studies at Evergreen and plans for the near future, and indicating how these express a balanced interest in the sciences/math and humanities/arts.
  • Three letters of recommendation written within the past year, including at least two from faculty members.
  • Unofficial copies of Evergreen evaluations (see Steps to Take #3C).
