Olympia Tumwater Foundation Scholarship

Amount: $5,000
Deadline: February 2, 2009

Offered to new transfer or currently enrolled “transitional” (non-traditional) students attending full-time with junior or senior standing and residing in Thurston County. The applicant might be a single parent who must work while attending school, be an adult re-training for a career change, or a student with an AA or AS degree returning to further their education. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to successfully carry out an academic plan for completing their degree and be in good academic standing. Financial need must be demonstrated.

Requirements

  • A letter of application with your name, address, student identification number, email address and the specific name of this scholarship. Your letter should address the following:
    • Your qualifications as a “transitional” (non-traditional) student
    • Your past academic achievements and life experiences as they relate to this scholarship
    • Your reasons for attending Evergreen and how your academic plan at Evergreen will help you achieve your career goals
  • Two letters of recommendation from individuals, other than relatives, who are familiar with your qualifications.
  • New Students must submit transcripts from each college they have previously attended. These are in addition to ones submitted for admission.
  • Current Evergreen students must submit copies of Evergreen evaluations or letters from program faculty specifically addressing academic achievement. The letters from faculty will not substitute for letters of recommendation if used to replace evaluations.
