Offered to a new transfer or currently enrolled female student who has completed a minimum of 45 credits at the time of application with demonstrated involvement in community activities and/or services. The successful applicant must enroll full time. Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need. Soroptimist International of Olympia, part of the world’s largest classified service organization for executive and professional women, has supported successful community service initiatives in the Olympia area for more than 60 years. The recipient is expected to attend a Soroptimist scholarship recognition meeting during the academic year.
- Letter of application, not to exceed two typed, double-spaced pages, indicating why you should be awarded this scholarship. Include a statement related to your financial need.
- Two letters of recommendation written within the past year from individuals other than relatives regarding your community activities/services.
- FAFSA or WASFA (see How to Apply #4).
