Aqua Aerobics

Improve your cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and muscle tone with minimal stress on joints through this non-swimming workout. This low impact exercise is a great way to increase your heart rate twice a week. Participants enjoy maximum movement with minimal risk and have fun while getting healthy and getting in shape. Group exercises include warm-up, stretching, aerobic conditioning and cool down components. Join us for this "get healthy" experience.

  • The water makes this a low impact exercise option thus, reducing the potential joint and jarring injuries.

732 Lifeguard Training

CRC 109 Fee: $65

Description: Learn the fundamental skills needed to become a professional lifeguard. Students will explore a variety of rescue skills. Course includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Community First Aid.

Required Materials: Textbook - American Red Cross: Lifeguarding is available at the American Red Cross office. Students must also provide their own pocket masks.

Prerequisites:

  • Students must be at least 15 years old on or before the first day of class and pass the swim skill test.
  • Swim 300 yards non-stop consisting of: 100 yards Crawlstroke, 100 yards Breaststroke and 100 yards of either Crawlstroke or Breaststroke
  • Swim 20 yards, surface dive to get a 10-pound diving brick 7 feet underwater and swim back to the starting point in under 1 minute 40 seconds

Benefits: Opens the door for employment opportunities. The course provides students with an increased understanding of the drowning process and how to prevent drowning.
