Swimming Lessons

Private Swim Lessons
Looking for one-on-one swim instruction? We offer private lessons for a wide variety of skills and ages. Several of our instructors also have experience working with people with disabilities. Whether you've never been in the water before or are looking for stroke refinement for that upcoming triathlon, we work with you to find an instructor that matches your needs and works with your schedule. All of our instructors have had competitive swim experience as well as many years working as swim instructors using the Red Cross curriculum. Each lesson is half an hour for one-on-one instruction, or forty five minutes for semi-private instruction.

Bethany Stringer, Head Swim Instructor
Bethany Stringer is currently a Junior at The Evergreen State College. Originally from California, she moved to Olympia three years ago in order to attend Evergreen, and has been an active and involved staff member of the CRC throughout her college career. She has 6 years of experience teaching swim lessons, including a year in which she coordinated and ran an entire lesson program, has been WSI certified for 3 years and has been swimming competitively since the age of 7. Using the standards set by The Red Cross and incorporating a wide variety of teaching techniques, Bethany hopes to create a fun and engaging lesson program where students will be able to gain the skills needed to feel safe, comfortable and confident in and around the water. She is currently majoring in Education and hopes to become a high school English teacher in the future. Welcome Bethany!
