Course Description
Ever wish you had a short massage before you competed in a sporting event or a workout? This class is designed to awaken and invigorate the muscles in your body. Besides feeling good, it's a lot of fun and helps relieve stress. You'll enjoy learning to perform the sports massage to music, which is designed to help you keep a rhythmic pace while performing the massage. The pre-event massage strokes are lighter and quicker to energize you so your muscles are ready to participate in sports; while the post-event massage strokes are deeper and slower to relax your muscles following competition or workout. Used by Olympic athletes, as well as athletes competing in national and regional events, this massage can make a positive difference in your overall performance, besides helping prevent injuries. The sports massage can be performed on another person, or can be performed on your own body as well. Customized depending on the sport you participate in, this is a highly personalized massage program. Even those individuals that are not athletes will enjoy the energy and relaxation derived from this type of massage. Students should wear comfortable clothing. You have to appreciate a class where you always leave feeling better than when you arrived.
