Meet the Instructor: Dan SteebyDan Steeby has studied Hwa Rang Do for over six years under founder and Supreme Grand Master Dr. Joo Bang Lee, 7th degree black sash Chief Master Tae Joon Lee, and other instructors around the Pacific Northwest. Hwa Rang Do is the destination of a journey to find the ideal martial art system for his needs and interests that began at the age of 13. Now that it has been found, it has become a new journey into forever deeper levels of fighting techniques, healing arts, philosophical epiphanies, and metaphysical studies. Hwa Rang Do has proved to be the ideal path for Steeby's interests, desires, and intensity. To him Hwa Rang Do is a vehicle in his search for enlightenment and the tool to forge the ideal human state, one of wisdom, power, honor, and justice. Steeby was born and raised in Alaska and moved to Olympia at the age of 25 to finish his education at The Evergreen State College. Shortly after earning his degree, he began training in Hwa Rang Do, and has since worked to become a stronger martial artist and instructor, and to further the Hwa Rang Do martial system in the Olympia area. He is a computer programmer for the State of Washington , artist, musician, and studies Asian medicine and healing arts in his free time. Spring 2008 Classes
