Freshman
Living/learning communities for students new to Evergreen and participating in a dining plan.
If you are a Freshman (40 credits or fewer) living in Housing, you are required to choose from one of five dining plans.
Choose from the options listed (left) to see what kinds of housing Evergreen offers for freshmen.
Freshman Halls
First Year Halls provide a dynamic living learning environment with enhanced staff to resident ratios and resources to support students in their transition to college life at Evergreen. The First Year Halls are designed to meet the needs of freshman students who are participating in a dining plan.

Freshman Clean Air Housing
Clean Air Housing is for students who do not smoke any substances, do not spend time around smoke, do not have service/support animals, and agree to work with roommates regarding sensitivity to fragrances.
Clean Air Housing will be in building B for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Freshman Quiet
Quiet Housing was created for residents who requested an environment that will remain quiet for study, sleep and recreation. Residents and their guests agree to low noise levels regardless of the time of day or day of the week.
Designated quiet hours in Freshman Quiet:
- Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m.
- Friday and Saturday from midnight to 10 a.m.
Residential and Dining Services expects residents living in Freshman Quiet to confront noise violations in their living space, hallways and entryways. If this confrontation is unsuccessful, contact your Resident Assistant or Police Services.
Residents who create a noise disturbance in Freshman Quiet will receive a warning and/or be referred to arbitration to be held accountable to the community noise standards. If residents are unable or unwilling to resolve their dispute, it may result in their removal from the Freshman Quiet community.
Building D will be Freshman Quiet Housing for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Freshman TOP Floor
The TOP Floor will help 13 first-year Evergreen students grow as individuals and as a small community through outdoor adventures and leadership opportunities. The TOP Floor is named as such because it is located on the top floor of A-building and because The Outdoor Program (TOP) will be helping TOP Floor residents.
With limited availability, interested students must submit an application complete with essay responses. A team of TOP and RAD staff will review submitted applications and select 13 individuals to participate in the TOP Floor. If selected, a non-refundable charge of $200 will be assessed to your Evergreen student account. As a member of this community, your $200 contribution will give you access to outdoor activities and deals valued over $350.
