Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I apply for Campus Housing?
    • You may apply for housing at this website: www.evergreen.edu/rad/apply   Once you have applied, be sure to start checking your Evergreen Email Account on a regular basis for further instructions on securing yourself a room for the year.
  • When can I check in?
    • Fall quarter check in begins the Saturday 9 days before classes begin in the fall, this gives time for Orientation Week activities.  Winter and Spring quarter check in begins the Sunday before the first day of class of the quarter.  You can always check in later, but you should let us know by emailing rad@evergreen.edu or calling  360.867.6132.  After applying and paying your confirmation fee, you will receive detailed information regarding check in.
  • Why am I not receiving your emails?
    • There are two reasons you might not be receiving our emails.  It is important that you do not allow your Evergreen Email Inbox to fill up.  If your Inbox is full, you will not be able to receive any emails.  Another problem you might be running into often occurs when your emails are forwarded to an outside email provider (e.g. Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, etc.).  Some providers filter out emails from Evergreen as junk mail and may delete them before you ever see them.  It might be best to add our address (rad@evergreen.edu) to your safe list or un-forward your Evergreen Email Address.
  • What is the difference between Block Meals and Declining Balance Dollars?
  • Do I have to have a meal plan?
    • If you have 40 academic credits or less when you check in to your housing assignment, you are required to have a meal plan.
  • What are my options if I can not pay for an entire quarter’s rent at once?
    • You may fill out a Payment Agreement with our office that will split your payments up from quarterly to monthly.  Stop by the Residential and Dining Services Office for a Payment Agreement form.
  • What are my options if I do not agree with billing charges that appear on my student account?
  • What furniture comes standard in a bedroom and apartment?
    • All bedrooms come with an extra-long twin sized bed and mattress, a work desk and chair, a cube drawer with two small drawers that can double as a night stand, a wardrobe or closet, and 3 large dresser drawers.  Our apartments come with a refrigerator, stove and oven, dining room table and chairs, a couch, a chair, a coffee table, and a washable shower curtain.
  • What should I bring with me?
    • A good rule of thumb is that if you can't reasonably fit it all in a 1987 Volvo wagon, you shouldn't be bringing it.  Visit our what to bring page for more information.
  • What is my address?
    • To figure out what your address is, please refer to this website:www.evergreen.edu/rad/services/home.htm#mailaddress  Also note that your address should have been emailed to you upon receipt of your housing assignment.  If you are having trouble finding that email and need to know what your mailbox number is, the front office staff can look it up for you.
  • Do I have to purchase internet or cable television?
    • Residential and Dining Services provides free internet throughout each apartment (each room has an orange or green ethernet data jack, most rooms also have wifi coverage), as well as cable television in all common spaces (first-year hall common rooms, apartment living rooms, etc.).  If you would like to purchase your own high speed internet or television for your bedroom, then you would want to purchase it through an outside company.
  • Does RAD Services have any vacuums, brooms, or mops that I can borrow?
    • You may check out vacuums or dry mops from the RAD Services front office on the third floor of A-Dorm between the hours of 9am and 6pm for up to one hour.  Just bring your Student ID, which we will keep as collateral.
  • How do I contact an RA after office hours?
    • For after-hours assistance, weekdays from 7pm-11pm and weekends from 8am-11pm, call Non-Emergency Police Services at 360.867.6832.  Ask them for an On-Duty RA and meet them where instructed.
