What to bring?

All rooms are furnished with a standard twin-size bed, dresser, desk, chair, closet/wardrobe, and trashcan. Apartment-Style residents also have a couch and chair, dining-room table and chairs, coffee table and trashcan in their common area. Depending on which housing you have been assigned, you will need:

In Freshman Halls

There are no kitchens, although there is kitchen access for special events such as birthday dinners.

Essentials to bring: regular/twin-size sheets, blankets, towels, pillows, alarm clock, hangers, toiletries, toilet paper, laundry detergent, toilet and sink cleaning supplies, soap. Suggestions: small microwave, mini-fridge, desk lamp with a compact fluorescent light bulb, pictures, posters, and a computer.

In Apartment-Style

Here there’s a kitchen, but you’ll need to furnish your own supplies. All kitchens are equipped with an electric stove, refrigerator, sink and cupboard space. Microwaves and dishwashers are not provided. All residents will have a Living Learning Agreement facilitated by their RA to discuss cleaning responsibilities, eating habits, grocery shopping, etc.

Essentials to bring: regular/twin-size sheets, blankets, towels, pillows, alarm clock, hangers, toiletries, toilet paper, laundry detergent, toilet and sink cleaning supplies, soap, pots/pans, dishes, bowls, glasses, mugs, silverware/cutlery and cleaning products.

Suggestions: coffee/tea/hot pot, toaster, microwave, rice cooker/steamer, skillet, desk lamp with a compact fluorescent light bulb, pictures, posters, and a computer.

What to leave behind:

Halogen lamps, candles, space heaters without an automatic turn off,hot plates, and weapons, are not allowed in Residential and Dining Services.

Telephone service

Remember that you are responsible for providing your own phone service. Call Qwest at 800-244-1111 for a landline. You will need to have your Evergreen street address to place an order. Cell phones on campus often get weak signals. Currently Nextel and Cingular provide the best reception.  Pay phones are located in A building, the Housing Community Center and the Mods Laundry Room.
