Biography of The Provost

Don Bantz comes to the position of Academic Vice President and Provost with a wealth of knowledge and experience gleaned from extensive careers as a teacher and administrator. Don earned his doctoral degree from the University of Southern California in December, 1988, after a sixteen year career in professional public administration spent working in California, Alaska, and finally Washington state. Don joined the faculty of Evergreen's Master of Public Administration Program in July, 1988, and went on to teach in a variety of coordinated studies programs at both the graduate and undergraduate level until he was selected to be the college's Budget Dean in 2000. President Purce appointed Don Interim Academic Vice President and Provost in July 2003, and, after a nationwide search process conducted in 2003-2004, Don became the permanent Provost in June of 2004.
