"If left un-lost, all love has lost its scale" Love, like all things, changes with the seasons. The spring lovers of every generation rise like tulips in April, where dormant passions awaken in the heat of summer, and cool in an autumn of understanding and devotion. Based on the Chinese dramatic treasures The Peony Pavilion,The Western Wing, and Qiannu's Soul Leaves Her Body, The Blooming Season is the story of three pairs of such lovers, each bound to the consequences truly epic love guarantees.

By harmonizing Western music, script writing and modern staging techniques with traditional Chinese dramatic and performing aesthetics,The Blooming Season presents a synthesis of East and West unique in the modern theater.

Directed by Chinese opera expert Rose Jang, with original music by composer Greg Youtz, creative consultation by renowned poet Zhang Er, an original script by Nick McCord, and performed by forty-three music and theatre students in the Evergreen program "Theatre of Fantasy: Performing Chinese Drama on the Western Stage. see flyer
