Program Description

The focus for the 2009-2011 cohort is Thinking Globally, Teaching Locally: Educating for Active Citizenship. You can also visit the cohort web sites for previous and current MIT cycles, which provide examples of books, assignments, etc. You can also see video clips of some previous cohorts in action.

The program concept provides a short description of the MIT program model and the program history gives a short description of MIT's history. The program structure briefly describes when the program meets and what work is completed each quarter. The curriculum themes describe the four program themes that guide the content of the program, and the topics studied and credits earned gives a more detailed description of the program content and the student teaching experiences.

The official MIT Student Guidebook (PDF) contains a wide variety of information about the program. The Frequently Asked Questions provides answers to common questions from program applicants.

Finally, the MIT program has a staff member dedicated to helping MIT students get teaching jobs after they graduate. We have a list of recent student teaching placements as well as a list of recent job placements.
