Application Overview
The MIT program begins a new cycle each year, starting in late September. Those applying to the program must complete their applications several months before the program begins. Applications are accepted starting October 1. Those applications fully completed by January 5 will be reviewed first. After January 5, applications will be reviewed as they are completed. Applications must be fully completed with all items received by April 27 to be guaranteed consideration. Applications not fully completed by April 27 will be considered on a space-available basis.
The application process includes the submission of ten items. A description of the ten required admissions items is available on this website. You may begin the application process by submitting your application form (PDF) and the $50 application fee to the Office of Admissions (at the address listed on the application form). The remaining application items may follow. It is important to be aware your results from the required entrance tests (WEST B and WEST E) must be received before your application will be reviewed. Similarly your three letters of recommendation must be received by the Admissions Office before your application is considered complete and can be reviewed.
Applicants are urged to review the admissions criteria, which guide MIT admissions decisions. Admission to the program is competitive and we are able to admit only the candidates who are most qualified in reference to these admission criteria.
Filling out an endorsement worksheet for each of your teaching areas is a required important part of the application process. Please read the instructions before filling out those worksheets. You may also contact the MIT advisor for assistance in completing these worksheets.
Once an application is fully complete, the review process generally takes six to eight weeks. Admissions notification letters are sent by mail. Applicants receiving offers of admission are required to confirm their participation in writing and submit a $100 non-refundable tuition deposit to the college's Office of Admissions.
We urge prospective students to plan ahead and complete their applications as early as possible to ensure full consideration. Available spaces are offered to the most qualified candidates as their respective applications are received and reviewed.
You may contact the Office of Admissions at 360-867-6170 to monitor the receipt of your application materials, especially those that are being sent directly to your file from elsewhere (e.g., letters of recommendation, WEST-B and WEST-E scores and official transcripts from all colleges).
