Problem Solving and Referral

The volunteers who staff the Center's phone have copies of college documents and can refer you to whomever is most knowledgeable about a specific campus policy.

Conciliation

Conciliation is the term used to refer to negotiations mediated by telephone, between individuals. Less complex disputes often can be settled at this stage with the help of the impartial third-party conciliator.

Mediation

If needed, the intake volunteer can set up a mediation in which the disputing parties sit down and work with a pair of experienced mediators to reach a mutually acceptable, written agreement. Mediators act as facilitators, not judges or advocates.
