Sophie is a third-generation Greener and second-generation Media Services employee who started her illustrious Electronic Media career as the Video Production intern. Years later, she is still here, and is now responsible for supporting and maintaining A/V classrooms. She will train you on the equipment, authorize your access, and help you when your laptop won't show up on the projector. Her official title is "Campus A/V Classroom Technician," which means that you can call her with questions about any of the A/V classrooms on campus, but more specifically she is the one to talk to about the Lecture Halls or Library.
She is happy to talk about/help with software (including Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Canvas, Photoshop, Filemaker, and Google SketchUp), media facilities (such as the 2D and 3D animation labs, DV Linear Editing, the Multimedia Lab and Nonlinear Editing Suites, the forthcoming Center for New Media, and any other room that contains a DVD player or video projector), or other miscellaneous topics (like fiber optic and copper patching across campus, video and audio engineering and production, signal flow diagrams, and the superiority of Scrabble over all other activities). She is also mildly addicted to knitting, reading young adult novels, and soldering, and she will discuss any of these topics at great length.
