For Graduates

Graduation T-shirts will be coming soon. Greener Bookstore donates $5.00 for each t-shirt sold to the 2015 Class Gift which will be donated to Safe Place, a women's shelter in Olympia.

You must apply to graduate! See what you need to do to graduate and participate in commencement.

Apply for graduation by April 15 to get your name in the program. Participation in the ceremony does not mean you have earned your degree and is not your graduation date. Your degree is confirmed after all credit is awarded and degree requirements are met.

About the Ceremony

Evergreen's commencement is held outdoors on Red Square at the center of campus, rain or shine.

The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. and lasts approximately three hours. A reception will follow in the Daniel J. Evans Library Lobby. With 1,000 or more graduates to recognize, we ask that the audience remain seated until the recessional has concluded.  The last person recognized deserves the same support, respect, and celebration as the first.  Your presence is part of the graduation experience for all.  Graduates, families, and friends will appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Tickets are not required. Early arrival is recommended for best seating and parking.

Food will be available for purchase on Red Square and in the adjacent College Activities Building.

Can't attend in person? The commencement ceremony is streamed live.

Parking & Transportation

All parking is free on graduation day. However, more than 7000 people are expected to attend the ceremony and parking will be at maximum capacity.

Download a campus map (PDF) marked with locations for graduation day parking. Marked shuttle vans will run from 11 am to 1:30 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm between the farthest parking areas (Parking Lot F, meadow parking off Driftwood Road) and the main campus.

Intercity Transit buses also run to the college every 15 minutes between downtown Olympia and the college, and every half hour between Capitol Mall and the college.
