2024 Commencement Undergraduate Student Speaker Auditions

Would you like to represent your graduating class and participate in your commencement ceremony on Friday, June 14 as the undergraduate student speaker? To audition, you must be a degree-seeking undergraduate student graduating in academic year 2023-24 and have an application for graduation on file. If you haven't already, Apply to Graduate no later than April 15 to ensure your name appears in the commencement printed program.

The undergraduate student speaker will join the keynote, graduate, and faculty speakers in congratulating and inspiring this year’s graduating class. The auditions will be held from 3 - 5 pm on Monday, April 22, 2024 in Purce Hall, Lecture Hall 1. We’ll have snacks and drinks to share.

To audition, prepare a speech no longer than five minutes. You can attend the auditions in person and present your speech, or submit a recording of your speech. Recordings must be submitted no later than Wednesday, April 17, and will be played at the in-person auditions. Auditioners can have a professional headshot taken at 2 pm the same day as the auditions – see the sign-up form for full info.

Speeches should incorporate the commencement theme.

Vote for Your Undergraduate Student Speaker 

If you’re not planning to audition, come to the auditions on April 22 to choose the undergraduate student speaker! Graduating undergraduate students who don’t plan to audition are invited to support their classmates, vote for their class speaker, and grab snacks. 

Please note: to avoid interruptions and out of respect for all auditioners, auditions will begin at 3 p.m. sharp. Late entry to and early departure from the audition space will not be allowed.
