James L. This

James L. This is The Evergreen State College Friends of the Library Board president and representative to the Board of Governors. Jim is a nationally recognized speaker, consultant and facilitator in the areas of strategic planning, leadership development, interpersonal communication and marketing. His career has found him in financial services, teaching and management consulting.

During his association with the Washington State Employees Credit Union he held key positions as marketing manager and executive vice president. He has taught at the University of Southern California, the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, Saint Martin's College, South Puget Sound Community College and The Evergreen State College. Through his consulting firms (James L. This and Associates, The Paragon Group and The Volunteer Leadership Institute) Jim has helped companies for over 15 years. Jim earned a bachelors degree from Wake Forest University and a doctorate from the University of Southern California. He holds the title of Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resource Management.
