Bank of America will no longer be continuing in the Stafford student loan program.

The Evergreen State College Financial Aid Office will no longer be certifying Bank of America loans as of November 20, 2009. Bank of America will no longer be continuing in the Stafford student loan program. This announcement was made publicly on November 06, 2009. Those who have had current or past loans with Bank of America should have received a letter from that lender indicating what would take place with their loans. If you have questions, please refer to any contact information on your notification and contact them directly.

The Financial Aid Office will be able to answer limited questions on this subject.

IRS Audio and Video Help

The Internal Revenue Service has announced the availability of video and audio products to help taxpayers take full advantage of the 2009 tax provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. If you have questions about HOPE and Lifetime Learning Credits, this is the place for answers.

The IRS has launched a YouTube video site and an iTunes podcast site to better serve taxpayers.

The same podcasts are available at IRS.gov’s multimedia center.

New Short-Term Loan Forms and Policies

Through the Short-Term Loan Program, students may borrow up to $400 cash once per quarter if life circumstances prohibit them from having funds to cover costs associated with attending school. This loan cannot be used for living costs between quarters.
