Visiting Faculty Position
2D Art - 2009-10
Visiting Faculty position, full time for fall & winter quarters 2009-2010.
The Evergreen State College seeks applicants for a visiting full-time faculty position for fall and winter quarters 2009/10 teaching studio art. Candidates should have an MFA or equivalent professional experience in two-dimensional art, a current exhibition record, and prior college teaching experience. Candidates will be teaching along with a sculptor/architect in a theme-based intermediate level visual and environmental arts program called Studio Projects: Land and Sky. http://www.evergreen.edu/catalog/2009-10/programs/studioprojectslandandsky. The curricular theme of this fall and winter quarter program is Landscape. The program will require the successful candidate to help organize and supervise overnight field trips. An MFA and experience working in a broad range of materials and approaches is desired.
The successful candidate will have a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for teaching and learning in an interdisciplinary environment, as well as a demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.

Minimum Qualifications:
- MFA degree or equivalent experience in two-dimensional art.
- Current exhibition record.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a broad range of materials and approaches.

This is a visiting faculty position for the 2009-10 fall and winter quarters, not eligible for continuing appointment. All requirements for this position must be completed by the end of academic year 2008-09. Salary for all positions based on experience and degrees, with excellent benefits package, including same-sex domestic partner benefits. We do not offer relocation expenses for our visiting faculty positions.
