The goal of the Evergreen State College smoking policy is to meet the needs of smokers while respecting the right to avoid second hand smoke by non-smokers. While smoking is not allowed inside campus buildings, the college permits smoking in outdoor designated areas located within the core area of the campus. Permanent covered structures will be erected in designated smoking areas that lack overhead protection.

Evergreen's smoking policy is peer enforced. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas.
