Building Services staff will provide moving service support
for college purposes only under the following guidelines and
conditions:
- Budgetary account transfers will reimburse all furniture
and equipment moves by Building Services.
- Moves will be planned, organized and scheduled 5 working
days in advance of the required moving date to allow for
staff mobilization.
- A Facilities Services work order accompanied by specific
details and instructions about the moving requirements must
be reviewed and accepted by a Building Services supervisor
before any move can begin.
- Building Services staff will move office furniture and
desks, file cabinets, and free standing shelves that have
been emptied of belongings, files records or books.
- Individuals are responsible for packing their own belongings.
Building Services staff will not pack or move unpacked offices.
Please be considerate of the movers and do not overload
boxes.
- Packed box weight should be kept to 35 pounds or less.
- Belongings, files records and books shall be appropriately
packed in enclosed boxes (preferably archive size) suitable
for stacking and storage and marked for owner identification
and intended location.
- Items, furniture or equipment purchased by the college
and assigned to a specific location cannot be relocated
to a different building, unless approved by the appropriate
Vice President, Director or Dean.
- Building Services Responsibility for
repair or replacement of damaged goods is limited only to
cases where obvious neglect or carelessness is found.
