State Motor Pool Vehicle Checkout

Before picking up your vehicle, you must get a state authorization card from Evergreen's Motor Pool office. This is a bright yellow card that looks like a credit card. The state uses it to imprint the name of the organization on their trip ticket. They will not let you check out a vehicle without this card.

You must pick up and return the vehicle at the State Motor Pool office at 1312 Fones Road. Go North on I-5. Get off at the Pacific Ave exit and turn right. Turn right again at the top of the hill at the stoplight on Fones Road. The State Motor Pool is directly across from Home Depot. Turn left into the strip mall just after the Associated Petroleum station and drive to the back of the lot. The Motor Pool office is just to the right of the fenced in area at the back.

Be sure that you know what name the reservation was made under. The person who reserved the vehicle does not need to pick it up. Someone else can pick it up. Be prepared to show your driver's license. It can be from any state. The driver does not need to be 21.

The State Motor Pool will keep a reservation for one hour after the reserved pickup time. If you are going to be late, call them at 438-8235 and change the time. They are open from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm.

There is very little parking available for the driver's vehicle. If you are returning during normal working hours, sometimes you can park your car where the state vehicle was parked. Be sure and ask. Remember that if you get back after hours, your car will be locked up in the State lot.

Please refuel the vehicle before returning if there is less than 1/2 tank. If you do not, you will be charged a $10 refueling fee.

When returning a vehicle, park it in an empty space behind the fence and note the stall number when you return the keys. If it is after hours, park the vehicle in front of the office and put the keys in the drop off box.

Return the State Authorization card to Evergreen's Motor Pool at mailstop "Shops". Do not leave it in the state vehicle.
