That’s what you need in order to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree at Evergreen.  You have the freedom to choose the offerings that fit your interests and goals—no predetermined checklists of requirements.  The faculty, academic advisors, and career center are here to help you plan the degree that is most beneficial to you.

Transfer Credit

Evergreen’s generous transfer credit policy could allow you to graduate sooner than you would expect.  Your credits will never be too old and all of your credits that transfer to Evergreen actually apply towards your 180. Learn more…

Programs

Programs are the interdisciplinary classes that form the heart of Evergreen's curriculum. In a program you will use multiple subject areas to learn about a central theme or question. Many programs are team taught and they last one, two or even three quarters, building on the work of previous quarters.  Learn more…

Courses typically draw on a single discipline, are taught by one faculty member and last one quarter. There are many 2 and 4-credit courses available and occasional 6-credit offerings. Learn more…

Prior Learning from Experience

Apply your life experience toward an Evergreen degree.  In PLE you will take writing classes and produce a finished document in order to earn credit for your work or life experience.  Learn more…

Individual Study

Would you like to create your own syllabus that is tailored specifically to your interests and goals?  After you've been at Evergreen for awhile and you're ready for advanced, independent study consider pursuing an Independent Learning Contract or an Internship Contract.  You'll need a faculty sponsor and a plan.  Learn more...
