What is the Employee Assistance Program ?
Most of us, at some point, are faced with a situation or circumstance that can disrupt our lives and affect our personal well-being or performance at work. It could be a divorce or death in the family, perhaps a money problem, a drug- or alcohol-related issue, a legal concern or emotional stress. Whatever the cause, Washington State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers a confidential assessment to determine the nature and extent of the problem(s). The assessment determines if continuing counseling or utilizing other community resources are most appropriate to your needs.

So why is this important?
By taking the time to work through problems, we often can avoid or alleviate the resulting depression, sense of isolation and sometimes even physical illness. Having somewhere to turn can make a huge difference.

An experienced, professional counselor will speak with you to discuss and help you clarify problems, identify solutions and develop a plan for working on them.

What is the cost to me?
There is no cost to employees and their immediate family for EAP services. The EAP will help you determine the specialized assistance you may need. If you are referred for special professional services, a cost may be involved. If so, rates, fees and your insurance benefits will be discussed at the time of the referral by the EAP counselor.

Is this service confidential?
All Employee Assistance contacts are held in strictest confidence. EAP discussions and activities are not disclosed to your employer, the union, your supervisor or anyone else, without your written permission. The information you provide us is not reflected in any of your personnel records.
