President's Diversity Fund

The President's Diversity Fund was established by Evergreen's Long-range Planning Committee to support efforts to increase the college community's ability to be more effectively multicultural, in other words, to operate in manner that is inclusive of, respectful toward, and hospitable to a culturally diverse learning community.
By cultural diversity, we are referring to people of all cultures, races, colors, national origins and ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations and identities, economic classes, women, people with disabilities/chronic illness, etc., veterans, and other groups that have been/are systematically marginalized and/or discriminated against.
The fund aims to create a more inclusive college climate by producing and/or providing support for programs and activities that educate the faculty, staff and students about diversity. This includes raising awareness about issues of individual and institutional oppression and discrimination, and providing opportunities for faculty, staff and students to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities to function well as a multicultural learning community.
The fund currently consists of an annual budget of $40,650, which includes $650 in discretionary funds. Funds remaining at the end of the fiscal year carry over and are added to the following year's allotment.
