Academic Computing Center Tech

The Computer Center houses four schedulable computing classrooms (Mac, PC and Linux), a cluster area, kiosks, laptop lounge, 3 specialty stations, and two assistive and adaptive technology stations. In total we have 3 printers, 102 PCs, 54 Macs, and 12 scanners.

The MAC Lounge

24 Mac Pro Workstations + 1 Instructor Station

  • OS: 10.5
  • Processor: 2 x 2.66 Ghz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
  • RAM: 2 GB 67 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
  • Video Card: NVidia GeForce 7300GT
  • CD/DVD: Superdrive (read/write DVD or CD)
  • Firewire & USB 2.0, no microphone

These stations have the Computer Center's Standard Macintosh "load set" of software, which includes the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and other applications. No additional Assistive Technology is installed, however, the Macintosh Operating System has many universal access features built-in.

The Windows Classrooms: GC1 (the Grotto) and GC2 (Solarium)

24 Gateway computers each + 1 Instructor Station

This stations in the GC1 & GC2 have the Computer Center's Standard PC "load set" of software, which includes the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and other applications. No additional Assistive Technology is installed. The ACC has addtional applications and operating systems as Advanced Computing Faculty request, and this loadset may change with each academic quarter.

The Linux Classroom: The Advanced Computing Classroom
